On July 8, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 7-2 decision that employer-paid health coverage that covers contraceptives can be made optional for certain companies and religious groups – despite the $0-cost contraceptives provision mandated by the Affordable Care Act. Affected groups include universities, hospitals and charities.
